Problem with the Milight ML5 Controller

Hi all,

I have a MiBoxer ML5 controller that I successfully paired with Apple HomeKit once.
I later removed it via the Home app, but now I am unable to pair it again.

The controller enters pairing mode, but HomeKit refuses to add it, saying it’s unavailable.

Please help me unlock or reset the ML5, as I cannot pair it with my Home again.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Best regards,
Maxi

Hello Maxi,

I guess the WIFI is different and that’s why the Home kit refuses to pair. Please follow the steps below to test again.

  1. Press and hold the “LINK” button until the light flashes

  2. Connect your iPhone to WiFi (Note: it must be the same WiFi that HomePod is connected to.)

  3. Open the Home APP and add a matter device

Thank you for your help, but the controller doesn’t connect to my Iphone. We tried it very often, but it doesn’t connect.

What does your iPhone interface show when you connect? Can you take a screenshot and show it to me?

I think you don’t need the screenshot anymore. The controller connected somehow when I tried to make the screenshot. I don’t know how it works after two days, but it does and now i can use it. Thank you for your help anyway.

OK. That’s good! If you have any questions, pls contact me anytime!

Hi,

the problem isn’t solved. My ML5 Controller was working for 30 minutes and then it lost connection to our wifi and my Iphone. Then we turned it off for a few days and it worked again for about 30 minutes then it lost connection again. How can I solve this?

Hello friend,

We need to troubleshoot the issue with the device. I need your assistance.

Before proceeding, ensure all devices and the app are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

I’ll need you to share your device ID with me. Here are the steps:

  1. The ML5 controller entered the pairing state.

  2. Download and log in to the Tuya app, then pair the ML5 controller with the Tuya app.

  3. After successful pairing, share the device with HomeKit.

  4. Open HomeKit and add the device.

  5. After successful pairing, return to the Tuya app.

  6. Find the device ID on the Tuya control interface and send it to me.

Hi,

After a long time it still won’t connect to my device. The Problem is the pairing. Everytime I try to pair it fails and now I have a message from apple home that the device is connected to another home and it needs to be restarted. Is this right and how can I restart it, because theres no restart button as usual.
