I’ll explain my lighting layout first then the problem:
Area 1
A Classic FUT039 RGBCCT 6 channels connected
B Classic FUT039 RGBCCT 6 channels connected
C Classic FUT039 RGBCCT 6 channels connected
Area 2
D Classic FUT039 RGBCCT 6 channels connected
E Classic FUT039 RGBCCT 6 channels connected
F Classic FUT039 RGBCCT 6 channels connected
Area 3
G Classic FUT038 just white connected no rgb
H Classic FUT038 just white connected no rgb
3 remotes
FUT096
FUT096
FUT100
The problem:
I can’t get the FUT38 units paired to the FUT100. I have tried several times, the manual for the fut100 says 3 fast presses when the controller is initially powered up. I have tried 3, I’ve tried 5, I’ve tried many. I’ve tried holding it for long, I’ve tried holding it for short.
I’ve tried transferring the paired FUT96 remote that was previously in use with the FUT38s, the controllers don’t respond to the fut100. I know they work because I can pair and unpair the FUT096s just fine with the FUT38s.
It won’t pair on any channel on any page. This remote pairs fine with the 6 FUT039 controllers in use.
What’s going on here, are my 38s so old they can only operate on the channels limited to the fut96? To rule out the possibility that the 2 FUT38s are bad, I tried one of my spare 38s and it behaves the same way. I have 4 fut38s that were bought all at the same time and are quite old. Is this a problem with an old revision of the fut38 or is the website wrong in saying the 38 is compatible with the fut100?
Why can’t I just get all the controllers onto the fut100?
those are the controllers I had when wiring that display and I don’t want to order more. At the time I ordered them I thought rgbw would be ok for my application but it ended up I didn’t like the temperature of the strips I got, and the area I’m lighting is more suited to just being white light after seeing how the rgb looked. I ended up just going with a warmer white alone.
The fut96 works with the fut38 just fine, but I would have liked to put everything on 1 remote.
that is correct, but I have tried all the programming methods and repeated, the fue38s will not link to the fut100. I even unlinked the fut96 before trying and I also tried copying the linked 96 over to the 100 but the 38s don’t respond to the 100.
quote:
“Your current controller FUT038 can not pair with FUT100 since it’s very old type which produced in 2019 year.”
I don’t really think six years is that old. But hey, at some point there will be a technical change that causes incompatibility.
Same problem as I have to connect the old controllers to the new 2.4Ghz Gateway.
Will be a good idea that customers will get the information if a system component is not compatible with an older one.
FUT100 product describtion says: “This FUT100 can control MiBoxer/Mi-Light 2.4G series products.”
Practice says otherwise!
I know a lot of people using the old products.
If they will get the remote broken and they look for a new one. Which model will they order? I think a lot will buy one of the new models because they look such more modern.
And very often they order from directly from China and after the wait for it over one month… they try to connect it to their old controller. If they go in trouble… believe me, that will be the last they bought from your brand.
Because no one can tell them why it’s not working. Only in this little, unknown forum.
This is just meant to be a well-intentioned criticism.
