I use the Tuya app on my smartphone with a ZB-Box3 multimode gateway and Zigbee lamps, it works perfectly.
Now I have bought LED panels, additionally a WL-Box2 2.4 GHz gateway (RF series) and connecting was no problem either.
But… I have had four FUT039 (Classic Series) RGB+CCT LED strip controller for a Panel and three Stripes I use with a FUT092 4-zone RGB+CCT remote Control.
And now I would also like to connect these four lamps also with the WL-Box2 and I read that the classic FUT039 will work with the Gateway.
“Remote Copy” was a failure; there’s no description anywhere about what was being copied, how, and where. The result was that nothing on the gateway worked anymore.
Then I uncoupled the FUT039 from the FUT092, each channel.
I think this will allow the FUT039 to be paired with other “transmitters” again.
I checked that the Controller doesn’t work work with the remote controle.
In Tuya I opened the WL-Box2 Gateway, click on it and the Gateway-Screen is visible.
I select the Zone I want.
I switched on power for the Controller (and lamp) it’s lights up and i click to connect… Nothing.
I tried everything… also three clics to “ON”… No Connection.
Pairing again with the Remote FUT092 is no Problem!
Please help me to pair the FUT039 classic with the WL-Box2!
Is it possible to bring back the FUT039 to factory setting (ready to pair)? (ON/OFF/ON/OFF…?)
I have a few of them and I also found video tutorials on how to connect them to the older WL-Box1.
The description of the WL-Box2 I bought always states that it’s the successor to the Box1, and since the wireless protocol probably hasn’t changed (the old handheld remotes also work with the current controllers), it should also be possible to connect the Classic controllers to the Box2. But I can’t find anything about it.
If you could help me with this, I would be very grateful.
I’m currently rebuilding and installing more LED lighting and I don’t want to have to replace the old controllers with new ones, especially if I’m worried that they might become incompatible again in a few years.
FUT039 can work with WL-BOX2, you need to download "Miboxer "APP, Don’t use Tuya smart or Miboxer smart APP. You can select remote type in "Miboxer"APP and finish pairing between controller and gateway.
Oh No! Not another app just to control the lights!
I bought the Box2 because I thought it worked like the Box3, basically as an adapter (Box3 between Zigbee and Tuya).
As it turns out, the Box2 is like an app within the app (the MiBoxer app within the Tuya app), and you can’t assign the newer 2.4 RF controllers to a room in the Tuya app, only the Gateway (Box2) can assign to a room. Inside the Box2, you must (or can) assign each controller to a zone.
Means: Now I have zigbee light (Box3) and “newer” Controller (Box2)… both in my living room. To use them I have to switch in Tuya between the “Living Room” for the Zigbee lights and the Box2-Gateway in “Technic room” (because I have 2,4GHz controllers in different rooms) and in the Gateway I have to select the right Living Room zone.
And if I want to control the led stripes in the sideboard (with the old controllers) I have to switch to a second, complete other App!?
The WAF with Tuya and Box2 was rather low… but then with a second complete separately app it is zero! This is no longer smart, because searching for “Which lamp is where?” is nerve-wracking.
Jesson, thank you for the suggested solution, but it is not practical.
One more question:
Is it possible to change the order of the zones on the Box2 in Tuya? That would at least make adding and finding new lights easier.
Maybe a suggestion for the next firmware version?
